Here we go, trying new things, new techniques. I'm liking the soft look, even though I guess you're NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT in digital painting....? I dunno, people bitch about things looking 'too airbrushed', but whatever, people bitch about a lot of things. I like the way it looks, and I feel it adds something to my work that I felt was lacking.

I got a little inspiration from the illustrations of Stephen Gammell, you know, the guy that did the pictures in the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books? Yeah. Those books really stand out in my memories of childhood. I remember at our school book fair all the kids were so excited because the "Scary Stories" books would be for sale there, and that we should all buy them up because who knew how much longer they'd be there before the adults insisted they be taken off the shelves. lol SCANDALOUS.

But anyway, new stuff, I'm pleased, onto the next painting. :)

The soft look gives off a dreamy vibe that goes well with your paintings, so I'd say keep 'em coming. :)
